A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to applicability of the Texas Youth Camp Safety and Health Act to facilities or programs operated by or on the campus of an institution of higher education. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Chapter 141, Health and Safety Code, is amended by adding Section 141.0021 to read as follows: Sec. 141.0021. EXEMPTION. This chapter does not apply to a facility or program operated by or on the campus of an institution of higher education, or a private or independent institution of higher education, as defined by Section 61.003, Education Code. SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this Act takes effect September 1, 2003.
