A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to requiring the comptroller of public accounts to assess the feasibility of a central database containing information on special districts. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. (a) The comptroller of public accounts shall study the feasibility of maintaining a central database available to the public that contains tax rates, functions, and other pertinent information for each special district in this state. (b) Not later than November 15, 2004, the comptroller of public accounts shall file a report containing the results of the study required by Subsection (a) of this section with the governor, the lieutenant governor, and the speaker of the house of representatives. SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2003.
