A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to special license plates for passenger cars and light 
trucks owned by or used for the transportation of veterans with 
disabilities.
	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:                        
	SECTION 1.  Section 502.254(c), Transportation Code, is 
amended to read as follows:
	(c)  License plates issued under this section must include:                    
		(1)  the letters "DV" as a prefix or suffix to the 
numerals on the plate; [and]
		(2)  the words "DISABLED VETERAN [VET.]"; and  
		(3)  the words "U.S. Armed Forces" at the bottom of each 
plate.      
	SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2003.
