A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to continuing education requirements for certain court clerks. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Subsection (c), Section 51.605, Government Code, is amended to read as follows: (c) The instruction required under Subsection (b) must include [A clerk must annually complete 20 hours of continuing education courses including] at least: (1) one hour [three hours] of continuing education [courses] regarding registry funds handled under Chapter 117, Local Government Code; and (2)[, in the performance of the duties of office. The 20 hours of required continuing education courses must include at least] one hour of continuing education regarding fraudulent court documents and fraudulent document filings. SECTION 2. This Act takes effect January 1, 2004.
