A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to the compilation of information regarding economic 
development incentives by local workforce development boards.
	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:                        
	SECTION 1.  Subchapter G, Chapter 2308, Government Code, is 
amended by adding Section 2308.320 to read as follows:
	Sec. 2308.320.  INFORMATION REGARDING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT 
INCENTIVES. (a) Each board shall compile and periodically update 
information regarding economic development incentives, including 
information regarding tax credits and abatements, offered in the 
area served by the board.
	(b)  Each board shall make the information compiled under 
this section available to the public.
	SECTION 2.  Each local workforce development board shall 
implement Section 2308.320, Government Code, as added by this Act, 
not later than February 1, 2004.
	SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives 
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as 
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this 
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this 
Act takes effect September 1, 2003.
