S.B. No. 1050
AN ACT
relating to the confidentiality of information associated with
family violence centers.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 51.007, Human Resources Code, is amended
to read as follows:
Sec. 51.007. CONFIDENTIALITY. The department may not
disclose any information [gained through reports, collected case
data, or inspections] that would identify:
(1) a particular family violence center location;
(2) a board member of a family violence center or
family violence special project; or
(3) a person working at or receiving services through
[at] a family violence center or family violence special project.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
Act takes effect September 1, 2003.
