A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT


relating to the admissibility of the use or nonuse of certain safety 
devices in a civil trial.
	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:                        
	SECTION 1.  Subsection (d), Section 545.412, and Subsection 
(g), Section 545.413, Transportation Code, are repealed.
	SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2003, and 
applies only to an action commenced on or after that date.  An 
action commenced before the effective date of this Act is governed 
by the law applicable to the action immediately before the 
effective date of this Act, and that law is continued in effect for 
that purpose.
