A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to recognizing Texas Prayer Day.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 662, Government Code, is
amended by adding Section 662.050 to read as follows:
Sec. 662.050. PRAYER DAY. The first Thursday in May of each
year is Texas Prayer Day, to coincide with the National Day of
Prayer, a day on which the people of Texas may turn to God in prayer
and meditation at places of worship, in groups, and as individuals.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2003.
