COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR S.B. No. 1439 By: Shapleigh
A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to federal matching funds for certain projects at military
facilities in this state.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 431, Government Code, is
amended by adding Section 431.017 to read as follows:
Sec. 431.017. MILITARY FACILITIES PROJECTS: MATCHING
FEDERAL FUNDS. (a) The Military Facilities Funding Board is
composed of:
(1) the governor;
(2) the lieutenant governor;
(3) the adjutant general; and
(4) the executive director of the Texas Military
Facilities Commission.
(b) If the governor finds that the state is eligible for
federal matching funds for projects at military facilities in this
state, the governor with the concurrence of the Military Facilities
Funding Board may direct that money appropriated for the purpose be
used to obtain the federal matching funds.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2003.
