                                                                  S.B. No. 1666




AN ACT

relating to the definition of a financial institution for purposes 
of law governing savings banks.
	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:                        
	SECTION 1.  Subdivision (14), Section 91.002, Finance Code, 
is amended to read as follows:
		(14)  "Financial institution" has the meaning assigned 
by Section 201.101 [means a state or federal savings bank, a state 
or federal savings and loan association, or a state or national 
bank].
	SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2003.
