A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the training required for a person appointed as a county jailer. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Section 1701.310, Occupations Code, is amended by adding Subsection (f) to read as follows: (f) The commission may require that a person appointed as a county jailer in a county with a population of 500,000 or more must complete 160 hours of commission-approved training not later than the second anniversary after the date the person was appointed. The 160 hours may include the preparatory training in Subsection (a). SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2003.
