A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to entitlement of certain sexual assault victims to 
forensic medical examinations
	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:                        
	SECTION 1.  Article 56.02, Code of Criminal Procedure, is 
amended by adding Subsection (e) to read as follows:
	(e)  A victim of an alleged sexual assault if entitled to a 
forensic medical examination if the alleged sexual assault was 
reported to law enforcement within 96 hours of its occurrence
	SECTION 2.  This Act take effect September 1, 2003.
