A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the supplemental salaries of judges of the district courts having jurisdiction in certain counties. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Subsection (a), Section 32.093, Government Code, is amended to read as follows: (a) The Commissioners Court of Grimes County may pay the judges of the district courts having jurisdiction in the county an annual supplemental salary [not to exceed $1,200] for judicial and administrative services. SECTION 2. Subsection (a), Section 32.157, Government Code, is amended to read as follows: (a) The Commissioners Court of Madison County may pay the judges of the district courts having jurisdiction in the county an annual supplemental salary [not to exceed $1,200] for judicial and administrative services. SECTION 3. Subsection (a), Section 32.236, Government Code, is amended to read as follows: (a) The Commissioners Court of Walker County may pay the judges of the district courts having jurisdiction in the county an annual supplemental salary [not to exceed $1,200] for judicial and administrative services. SECTION 4. Subsection (d), Section 32.093, Subsection (d), Section 32.145, Subsection (d), Section 32.157, and Subsection (d), Section 32.236, Government Code, are repealed. SECTION 5. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this Act takes effect September 1, 2003.
