SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 28

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 
recognize San Felipe Middle School in Del Rio on the occasion of 
its selection for the Texas Pathfinder Collaborative; and
	WHEREAS, By participating in the Texas Pathfinder 
Collaborative, San Felipe Middle School joins approximately 
100 schools whose exemplary academic programs will provide the 
foundation for improving educational achievement in schools 
across the state; and
	WHEREAS, One of the goals of the Texas Pathfinder 
Collaborative is to share successful teaching methods that 
improve all students' academic performance; San Felipe Middle 
School educators will thus contribute their innovative ideas 
and techniques to teachers serving in some of the state's 
low-performing schools; and
	WHEREAS, San Felipe Middle School will be welcomed into the 
Texas Pathfinder Collaborative at a special ceremony in Austin on 
January 21, 2003, where the school will be recognized for its 
implementation of a successful academic program; and
	WHEREAS, The students, faculty, and administrators of
San Felipe Middle School have consistently demonstrated their 
commitment to the highest standards of educational achievement, 
and they have brought great credit to themselves and to their 
community; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 
78th Legislature, hereby commend San Felipe Middle School
for its exceptional accomplishments and extend best wishes
for a successful partnership with the Texas Pathfinder 
Collaborative; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
the school as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
