SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 43
	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to  
recognize Bob Richter as he retires after a quarter of a century 
with the San Antonio Express-News and accepts his new assignment as 
press secretary to Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives 
Tom Craddick; and
	WHEREAS, A reception to honor the veteran journalist
will be held January 22, 2003, at the Inter-Continental
Stephen F. Austin Hotel in Austin; colleagues will gather to 
celebrate Bob's exemplary career and his contributions to
San Antonio and to South Texas; and
	WHEREAS, Bob is widely respected by the people of
San Antonio for his insightful newspaper columns, and he will
be greatly missed by all associated with the San Antonio 
Express-News; as spokesperson for the Speaker of the House, 
however, Bob will still be heard around the state; and
	WHEREAS, Bob has distinguished himself in his profession, 
and his appointment as press secretary to one of the most 
prestigious political figures in our state is commendable; Bob 
deserves recognition for his outstanding career and his many 
accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby pay tribute to Bob Richter upon his 
retirement from the San Antonio Express-News and congratulate 
him on his assignment as press secretary to Speaker of the
Texas House of Representatives Tom Craddick; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
Bob Richter as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
