SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 67

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 
recognize Ron and V. Beth Durham for their outstanding service 
during their 30-year ministry at Columbus Avenue Baptist Church 
in Waco; and

	WHEREAS, Ron served as college minister at Columbus Avenue 
Baptist Church for the first eight years of the ministry and has 
been pastor of the church for the past 22 years; and

	WHEREAS, Strongly committed to Christian service, Ron and 
V. Beth have brought their many spiritual gifts to Columbus 
Avenue Baptist Church, and the congregation has thrived under 
their guidance and healing presence; and

	WHEREAS, Ron and V. Beth have earned the respect and 
admiration of the congregation for their exemplary work and
their devotion to the mission of the church; and

	WHEREAS, The Columbus Avenue Baptist Church family
is honoring Ron and V. Beth with a special day on Sunday,
February 9, 2003, to recognize them for the lasting contributions 
they have made to the congregation; now, therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby commend Ron and V. Beth Durham for their 
many years of exceptional service in their Christian ministry at 
Columbus Avenue Baptist Church; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
them as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
