SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 81
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Ryan-Jamal Nelson of Boy Scout Troop 788 in Dallas for
achieving the rank of Eagle Scout; this fine young man joined the
elite corps of Eagles recently and was presented the coveted
Eagle Badge at a Court of Honor; and
WHEREAS, Few achieve this distinguished honor; only two
out of every 100 boys in the Boy Scout program attain the rank
of Eagle Scout; and
WHEREAS, Following the principles of the Scout oath
and promise, Ryan-Jamal advanced through the ranks of
Tenderfoot, Second, First, Star, and Life classes before
reaching Eagle Scout; and
WHEREAS, This fine young man displayed outstanding
leadership through the planning and execution of a service
project that benefited his community; Ryan-Jamal mulched and
refurbished the baseball field and play area at Saint Elizabeth
Catholic School; and
WHEREAS, By becoming an Eagle Scout, Ryan-Jamal has
brought great honor to himself, his family, his troop, his
community, and his state; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby commend Ryan-Jamal Nelson on
receiving this prestigious honor and congratulate him on
his outstanding achievement; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared
for Eagle Scout Nelson as an expression of esteem from the
Texas Senate.
