SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 83
	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 
recognize Reverend Tracy Cole Collins and the Inspired Body of 
Christ Christian Church, which he founded January 5, 2003; and
	WHEREAS, Reverend Collins was born in Los Angeles, California, 
on September 25, 1962, to the Reverend and Mrs. Ezell Collins, Jr.; 
after graduating from Milby High School in Houston, he attended 
Texas Southern University; and
	WHEREAS, Called to serve the Lord while still a very young 
man, Reverend Collins pursued theological studies at Bishop 
College, the Houston Bible Institute, the College of Biblical 
Studies, and the Union Theological Seminary; and
	WHEREAS, Reverend Collins served as pastor of Mercy Seat 
Baptist Church in Washington, Texas, from 1985 to 1990; he was 
called to serve at the New United Church in 1992 and at Saint John 
Missionary Baptist Church from 1993 to 2000; and
	WHEREAS, Reverend Collins is a spirit-filled and powerful 
proclaimer of the gospel in word and in song, and the focus of his 
ministry is evangelism; he conducts seminars and revivals and 
teaches Bible studies to members of diverse denominations 
throughout the country; through his ministry, he brings a healing 
presence to those who are hurting, especially to the homeless; 
and
	WHEREAS, Reverend Collins has also been the devotional 
leader and treasurer of the Ministers Conference in the National 
Missionary Baptist Convention of America and the director of 
evangelism in the Lincoln District Association; and
	WHEREAS, By establishing the Inspired Body of Christ 
Christian Church, Reverend Collins will continue to reach people 
through his gifted preaching and gospel singing; now, therefore, 
be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby commend Reverend Tracy Cole Collins on 
his dedication to his ministry and his fellowman and extend to 
him best wishes for the future with his Inspired Body of Christ 
Christian Church; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared
for Reverend Collins as an expression of esteem from the
Texas Senate.
