SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 99
WHEREAS, Nancy Muse Taylor has worked diligently in
preserving some of our state's most treasured historical
landmarks, and her efforts are most deserving of special
recognition; and
WHEREAS, A native Texan, Mrs. Taylor was born in
Anderson County and educated in the Palestine public school
system; she is the wife of the late George F. Taylor and mother
of seven living children; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed woman was appointed as one of the
first members of the Palestine Historical Preservation
Commission by the city's mayor in 1990; she has also been active
in the Anderson County Historical Commission for the past two
decades; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Taylor is retiring from both organizations
this year, and her many significant contributions are being
recognized on February 27, 2003, which the city has proclaimed
Nancy Taylor Day in Palestine; it is a pleasure to join them in
honoring her at this time; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby commend Nancy Muse Taylor on her service
to the Palestine Historical Preservation Commission and the
Anderson County Historical Commission and extend to her sincere
best wishes for future happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
prepared for Mrs. Taylor as an expression of high regard by the
Texas Senate.
