SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 104
In Memory
of
Wilson Clark Martin, Jr.
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens of Fort Worth in mourning the loss of Wilson Clark Martin, Jr., who died December 19, 2002, at the age of 67; and WHEREAS, Clark Martin was born July 23, 1935, in Jackson, Mississippi, to Susie Strait Martin and W. C. Martin; he graduated from Mississippi State University and started his business career with International Business Machines Corporation; he was a co-founder of Commercial Computer Services; and WHEREAS, Mr. Martin served the community in many capacities; he was a consultant for land and development projects and was a former chairman of the Fort Worth Zoning Commission; in 1979, he was appointed to the Fort Worth City Council; and WHEREAS, A man of integrity, strength, and generosity, Mr. Martin gave unselfishly of his time to others, and his wisdom, warmth, and valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew him; and WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 78th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Wilson Clark Martin, Jr.: his wife of 44 years, Gloria Martin; his sons, Wilson Martin III and Greg Martin; his brother, Lee Martin; his sisters, Susie Crommett and Joann Horne; and his two grandsons; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Wilson Clark Martin, Jr. Brimer ________________________________ President of the Senate I hereby certify that the above Resolution was adopted by the Senate on April 7, 2003, by a rising vote. ________________________________ Secretary of the Senate ________________________________ Member, Texas Senate
