SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 112
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the Honorable Antonio Riley on his recent appointment
to serve as executive director of the Wisconsin Housing and
Economic Development Authority in the administration of
Governor Jim Doyle; and
WHEREAS, A representative of the 18th Assembly District in
the Wisconsin State Assembly since 1993, he brings broad personal
and professional experience and knowledge in economic development
and housing issues to his new position; and
WHEREAS, Antonio Riley is well known for his leadership in
replacing the state's welfare system with work-based alternatives
and for implementing major educational reforms; and
WHEREAS, In addition to his service in the State Assembly,
he has worked in the Department of City Development for the
City of Milwaukee and as a staff assistant to Milwaukee
Mayor John O. Norquist; and
WHEREAS, An exemplary member of his community,
Antonio Riley serves on the boards of the Young Men's Christian
Association of Milwaukee, the Greater Milwaukee American Red
Cross, and the Westside Health Care Association; and
WHEREAS, Antonio Riley is a talented, energetic, and
dedicated public servant who is highly respected for putting
the best interests of the public first; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby commend Antonio Riley and extend
best wishes to him for success in his challenging new role;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
