SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 118
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Shirley Terry on the occasion of her retirement from Emory Young & Associates, Incorporated, after 19 years of loyal service; and WHEREAS, Shirley began working with Emory Young & Associates, Incorporated, in Austin in January of 1984 and over the years has served as both office manager and personal assistant to Mr. Young; much of the company's success is due to Shirley's competence, dedication, and first-rate organizational skills; and WHEREAS, In addition to being a conscientious employee, Shirley has been a close friend to Mr. Young and his family, and her presence at Emory Young & Associates, Incorporated, will be greatly missed; and WHEREAS, Shirley has been married to Bill Terry for 43 years, and the couple has two daughters and three grandchildren; she is active in Saint Mark's Episcopal Church, where she has served as a member of the vestry, a director of the altar guild, a Sunday school teacher, and chair of the annual bazaar; and WHEREAS, Shirley is an exemplary lady who is beloved and respected for her invaluable contributions to Emory Young & Associates, Incorporated, and to her family and her community; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 78th Legislature, hereby commend Shirley Terry for her many years of exceptional service to Emory Young & Associates, Incorporated, and extend best wishes to her for the retirement years ahead; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
