SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 124
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
citizens of DeSoto in congratulating Chase Henderson of Boy Scout
Troop 141, who recently attained the rank of Eagle Scout, a rank
achieved by only two out of every 100 boys in the program; and
WHEREAS, This fine young man displayed outstanding
leadership through the planning and execution of a service
project which has benefited his community; and
WHEREAS, Chase recognized the danger of dumping hazardous
materials into storm drains that drain into the nearby creeks of
his neighborhood; for his project, he put caution stickers on the
storm drains and information tags on the doors of people's homes
explaining the risks; and
WHEREAS, Chase advanced through the ranks of Tenderfoot,
Second, First, Star, and Life classes before reaching the rank
of Eagle Scout by following the principles of the Scout oath and
promise; he has earned 21 merit badges, and he is a member of the
Order of the Arrow; and
WHEREAS, By becoming an Eagle Scout, this personable young
man has brought great distinction to himself, his family, his
troop, his community, and his state; and
WHEREAS, Chase is an exceptional representative of the
State of Texas and a sterling example to all who have the good
fortune to know him; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby commend Chase Henderson on earning
the rank of Eagle Scout and congratulate him on his great
achievement; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
Eagle Scout Henderson as an expression of high regard from the
Texas Senate.
