SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 126
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased
to recognize the Career and Technology Education student
organizations and their elected state officers for their
outstanding contributions to vocational education; and
WHEREAS, These student organizations play important roles
in various career and vocational fields; the organizations
include Business Professionals of America, Distributive
Education of America, Future Business Leaders of America, Future
Career and Community Leaders of America, Future Farmers of
America, Health Occupations Students of America, and Skills
USA--Vocational Industrial Clubs of America; and
WHEREAS, The leaders of these groups are exemplary members
of their communities who are committed to promoting the value of
career and technology education; the outstanding young people
who guide the organizations as state officers include Clay Turner,
David Shelton, Elda Arzate, Robby Keffer, Kristi Farnum,
Lindsey Allen, William McCormick, Thomas Curtis, and Charel West;
and
WHEREAS, Career and technology student organizations
promote young people's hopes and dreams for the future by
encouraging them to explore their career choices; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby commend these organizations and
their leaders for providing opportunities for young people
to learn about careers in business, health, farming, and other
vocations and extend to them best wishes for continued success
in their endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
these organizations and their leaders as an expression of esteem
from the Texas Senate.
