SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 145

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased 
to recognize Amanda Lyn Martinelli on the occasion of her 
26th birthday; and
	WHEREAS, Amanda was born in San Dimas, California, 
on January 22, 1977, to her proud parents, Jeff and 
Lorraine Martinelli; and
	WHEREAS, An academically gifted young woman, Amanda 
received a bachelor's degree with honors from Texas Tech 
University in 2000, and she earned a master's degree from 
The University of Texas Health Science Center in May of 2002;
and
	WHEREAS, Having chosen a career in the medical 
field, Amanda joined Agensys, Incorporated, in 
Santa Monica, California, where she is a cancer research 
scientist; and
	WHEREAS, While a fan of all types of music, Amanda has 
a special fondness for the music of the 1980s, and she is an 
especially passionate admirer of singer Pat Benatar and the 
group Metallica; and
	WHEREAS, Amanda treasures her trips to the glittering 
capital of entertainment, Las Vegas, and she enjoys spending 
time with her family and friends; and
	WHEREAS, Noted for her love of life and her engaging 
personality, Amanda is a source of pride to all who know her, 
and on the occasion of her 26th birthday, she can look forward to 
a future filled with many professional accomplishments and rich 
personal rewards; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 
78th Legislature, hereby congratulate Amanda Lyn Martinelli on 
her recent birthday and extend best wishes to her for the future; 
and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
her as a memento of this special day.
