SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 182
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the Hebron High School cheerleaders, who won first
place in the large coed squads division at the national
competition of the National Cheerleaders Association; and
WHEREAS, The Hebron cheerleaders competed against
245 squads from 22 states in Dallas on December 29, 2002,
to win this impressive and well-deserved victory; and
WHEREAS, The squad, organized only four years ago,
was selected to compete at the national meet during the
summer training camp at Southern Methodist University, after
delivering a spectacular performance; the team was named the
NCA Grand Champion and was recognized with two spirit awards
during the camp; and
WHEREAS, Under the superior leadership and expertise of
coaches Jenna Baker, Tracey Jackson, Dave Cone, and Shannon Duffy,
the 28-member team trained vigorously throughout the fall for this
important and challenging competition; and
WHEREAS, The Hebron cheerleaders have displayed awesome
talent and perseverance, and they deserve to be proud of their
efforts and outstanding performance; and
WHEREAS, For their exceptional skills and for practicing
the highest ideals of sportsmanship, they have brought great
honor to the school and to the community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby commend the Hebron High School
cheerleaders for their outstanding accomplishment; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the squad as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
