SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 196
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Marcene Pollard on the occasion of her retirement
after 37 years of outstanding service with the Texas Employment
Commission; and
WHEREAS, Marcene began her career with the Texas
Employment Commission, now the Texas Workforce Commission, on
May 12, 1966; over the years, she has ably served the agency in
many different roles; in her latest position as the employee
relations coordinator, she has counseled and provided guidance
to hundreds of employees; and
WHEREAS, Marcene is also known for her work on behalf of
the community and has represented the commission as a volunteer
for such organizations as the Governor's Committee on People with
Disabilities and the American Heart Association; and
WHEREAS, An exemplary lady, Marcene is beloved and
respected by her colleagues at work, and her presence at the
Texas Workforce Commission will be greatly missed; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby commend Marcene Pollard for her loyal
service to the State of Texas and extend best wishes to her for
the retirement years ahead; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
