SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 212
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Cassie Choyce on the occasion of her 68th anniversary as the pianist at Mount Aries Missionary Baptist Church; and WHEREAS, On February 23, 2003, the congregation will celebrate Mrs. Choyce's many years of loyal service as the pianist for their church; and WHEREAS, Cassie Choyce began her musical ministry at the church during the Great Depression, and over the years, she has witnessed such historical events as World War II, mankind's landing on the moon, and the September 11, 2001, tragedy at the World Trade Center; and WHEREAS, In June of 2002, six individuals associated with the World Trade Center joined the Mount Aries congregation for worship, and they were uplifted and encouraged by Mrs. Choyce's piano playing; and WHEREAS, Respected for her dedication, her talent, and her humility, Mrs. Choyce has touched the lives of countless worshipers at her church, and she deserves recognition for her years of faithful service; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 78th Legislature, hereby commend Cassie Choyce on her exceptional contributions to Mount Aries Missionary Baptist Church and extend best wishes to her for a joyful anniversary celebration; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
