SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 224
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Rey Trevino on the occasion of his retirement from the
United States Postal Service after 34 years of loyal service; and
WHEREAS, Rey Trevino was born in Elgin in 1944 to
Martin and Susie Trevino and moved with his family to Austin
in 1945; a 1962 graduate of Johnston High School, Rey Trevino
served his country in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968,
spending one year in South Korea; and
WHEREAS, He began working for the postal service in 1968
after he was discharged from the Army; over the years, Rey was
a dependable and conscientious employee of the
United States Postal Service, and during his tenure, he made
numerous friends; and
WHEREAS, Rey is beloved and respected by his former
colleagues at work, and his presence as an employee of the
United States Postal Service will be greatly missed; and
WHEREAS, A member of the Pan American Golf Association for
20 years, Rey is an avid golfer and enjoys walking and jogging in
Austin's parks; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby commend Rey Trevino for his many years
of exceptional service with the United States Postal Service and
extend to him best wishes for the retirement years ahead; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
