SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 250
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased
to recognize the South Central Region of National Women of
Achievement, Incorporated, on the occasion of its 18th Annual
Leadership Conference; and
WHEREAS, Founded by Dr. Maudest Walls Stewart, the
organization encourages young people and women to strive for
excellence in academic pursuits, to maintain high moral and
ethical standards, and to make outstanding contributions in
medicine, law, business, and other career fields; and
WHEREAS, The National Women of Achievement, Incorporated,
is organized into seven regional chapters throughout the
United States, and regional conferences are held annually; and
WHEREAS, The organization is committed to carrying
out civic goals that will benefit the community; its members
chronicle significant historical events to pass on to future
generations; they also work with and inspire young people by
motivating, nurturing, and honoring their talents and by serving
as role models; and
WHEREAS, An organization dedicated to encouraging
youth and women to find success in a wide array of professional
fields, the National Women of Achievement, Incorporated,
deserves recognition for its outstanding service and its many
accomplishments over the years; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby commend the South Central Region of
National Women of Achievement, Incorporated, for its commitment
to excellence and community service and extend best wishes to its
members for a successful conference in Fort Worth on March 21 and
22, 2003; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared
for the organization as an expression of esteem from the
Texas Senate.
