SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 279
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased
to join interior designers across the state in recognizing
March 4, 2003, as Interior Design Day at the State Capitol; and
WHEREAS, Interior designers today meet the changing needs
of society; they go beyond aesthetic appeal to create an
environment that will accommodate persons of all ages and
physical abilities; and
WHEREAS, Interior designers are educated in space,
texture, color, and light, as well as public health and safety;
they have become experts in flammability, toxicity, ergonomics,
and local and state building codes and standards to promote the
safety and welfare of their clients; and
WHEREAS, Combining creativity and awareness of safety
standards, interior designers make a profound impact on the lives
of countless Texas citizens and contribute to the well-being of
all people; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby declare March 4, 2003, Interior Design
Day at the State Capitol and extend a heartfelt welcome to all
interior designers who have come to the Capitol on this special
occasion; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
them as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
