SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 280 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Debra Dunham, who has been named Employee of the Year for 2001 by La Porte's Parks and Recreation Department; and WHEREAS, Debra Dunham is the coordinator for the department's Senior Services Program, and her enthusiasm, creativity, and dedication have made her an invaluable member of the staff; she was recently presented with the Employee of the Year award; and WHEREAS, She has developed a cordial and cooperative relationship with the Precinct 2 Senior Program and the Area Agency on Aging; as a result of her efforts, senior citizens now enjoy extra field trips, and the program has received additional grant funds for the purchase of five new computer monitors; and WHEREAS, Debra's hard work has led to greater participation in the congregate meals program and to the certification of La Porte's Senior Services Program by the Meals on Wheels Association of America; she has also initiated photography classes, birding trips, and other gratifying social activities for the program's participants; and WHEREAS, An individual who cares deeply about meeting the needs of senior Texans in La Porte, Debra is indeed an asset to the Senior Services Program and to the Parks and Recreation Department; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 78th Legislature, hereby commend Debra Dunham for her dedication and her outstanding work on behalf of La Porte's senior citizens; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
