SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 282
	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 
recognize Diane Davey as one of our state's top educators; and
	WHEREAS, A teacher at Plano High School, Mrs. Davey is 
one of 10 teachers statewide to be selected for the 2003 Texas 
Excellence Award for Outstanding High School Teachers; in 
addition, she is one of three educators from the Dallas area 
to earn the Lillian B. Rhodes Teaching Award; and
	WHEREAS, The Plano Independent School District named her 
its top secondary schoolteacher in May of 2002; and
	WHEREAS, Mrs. Davey has been Plano's girls soccer coach 
since the program's inception in 1979, and she is noted for 
setting high standards for her students and providing an 
environment conducive to learning; and
	WHEREAS, Diane Davey is well known for her dependability, 
her professionalism, and her positive influence on the lives of 
students and colleagues, and she deserves recognition for her 
exceptional accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 
78th Legislature, hereby commend Diane Davey for her outstanding 
achievements in the field of education and extend congratulations 
to her on earning these awards; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
her as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
