SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 284
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
of Fort Worth in congratulating Eugene Lawson IV of Boy Scout
Troop 515, who recently attained the rank of Eagle Scout, a rank
achieved by only two out of every 100 boys in the program; and
WHEREAS, This fine young man displayed outstanding
leadership through the planning and execution of a service
project which has benefited his community; Eugene organized
and led the restoration and painting of the Forest Hill Youth
Association field house; and
WHEREAS, Eugene advanced through the ranks of Tenderfoot,
Second, First, Star, and Life classes before reaching the rank
of Eagle Scout by following the principles of the Scout oath and
promise; and
WHEREAS, Eugene graduated summa cum laude from Eastern
Hills High School, where he was a member of the National Honor
Society, and he was listed in Who's Who Among American High
School Students; he earned a number of scholarships, and he now
attends Prairie View A&M University; and
WHEREAS, By becoming an Eagle Scout, this personable young
man has brought great distinction to himself, his family, his
troop, his community, and his state; and
WHEREAS, Eugene is an exceptional representative of the
State of Texas and a sterling example to all who have the good
fortune to know him; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby commend Eugene Lawson IV for earning
the rank of Eagle Scout and congratulate him on his great
achievement; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
Eagle Scout Lawson as an expression of the high regard of the
Texas Senate.
