SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 285
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Bishop Paul S. Morton, Sr., on the occasion of the
Fresh Fire Conference, which takes place on March 6, 2003; and
WHEREAS, A highly revered spiritual leader, Bishop Morton
is the founder and presiding bishop of Full Gospel Baptist Church
Fellowship, International, which he began to organize in 1992;
his church is built on the structure of the traditional Baptist
Church and encompasses the scope of the Pentecostal movement and
the Word Church; and
WHEREAS, An inspirational man who is dedicated to helping
others, Bishop Morton has devoted his time and energy unselfishly
to the members of his fellowship, and he has brought them
countless blessings; and
WHEREAS, A man of spiritual depth and devotion,
Bishop Morton has ministered faithfully to the needs of
countless followers and has brought enlightenment and hope
to many; and
WHEREAS, Under his able direction, the Full Gospel Baptist
Church Fellowship, International, has experienced phenomenal
growth throughout the United States and the world; each year, the
church's annual conference ministers to nearly 30,000 people
through its School of Ministry classes, spirit-filled worship
services, and community outreach efforts; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby recognize Bishop Paul S. Morton, Sr.,
for his fervent service to his church and his fellowman; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
