SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 290
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize William R. Sinkin for his outstanding contributions
to the City of San Antonio; and
WHEREAS, William Sinkin is well known in the community for
his work as a founder and first president of HemisFair; and
WHEREAS, A highly respected leader who generously devotes
time and energy to many civic organizations, Mr. Sinkin has
served as president of a number of local boards and associations,
including Texans for Equal Education, the Jewish Federation, and
the Coordinated Child Care Council; he is on the board of the
San Antonio Food Bank and a member of the Bexar County Hospital
Board; and
WHEREAS, For his exemplary service to his fellow
citizens, Mr. Sinkin has been recognized with numerous awards
and honors; he has received the Community Benefactor Award, the
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Distinguished Achievement Award, the
Bexar County Outstanding Democrat Award, and the Neighborhood
Business Revitalization Award, among many others; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Sinkin is a source of strength to many in his
community, and his accomplishments reflect his commitment to his
fellowman; he is truly worthy of legislative recognition; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby commend William R. Sinkin for his
exceptional service to the people of San Antonio; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
