SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 302
	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 
recognize Tim O'Krongley for receiving the 2003 Reliever Airport 
Manager of the Year Award; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. O'Krongley is the manager of Stinson 
Municipal Airport in San Antonio, an airport which is known for 
its dependable and excellent service; since accepting the position 
of manager in 1998, he has made the airport more attractive to 
pilots by offering them numerous amenities, working to attract 
tenants that provide flight schools, a café, an aviation-themed 
museum, and aircraft fueling and storage, and extending the hours 
of operation; and
	WHEREAS, Well regarded in his field, Mr. O'Krongley joined 
the city's department of aviation as an intern in 1991; over the 
years, he has established a reputation as an outstanding manager, 
and he is an accredited airport executive, one of a few hundred 
individuals who hold that designation; and
	WHEREAS, Tim O'Krongley has brought significant experience 
to his role at Stinson Municipal Airport; he served as aviation 
manager for the Greater Kelly Development Authority for three 
years, and he was a member of the team that oversaw the conversion 
of Bergstrom Air Force Base into Austin-Bergstrom International 
Airport; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. O'Krongley has done an outstanding job in 
updating and finalizing the master plan for Stinson, and he will 
oversee construction to upgrade the airport; and

	WHEREAS, A man who has aviation in his blood, Mr. O'Krongley 
comes to his work naturally; he is a certified pilot who enjoys 
flying as a hobby, and he teaches airport management, operations, 
and safety courses at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, his 
alma mater; and
	WHEREAS, Stinson Municipal Airport has benefited from the 
guidance of Tim O'Krongley, and under his exemplary leadership, 
it is poised to provide ever more efficient and effective 
service; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 
78th Legislature, hereby commend Tim O'Krongley for his exemplary 
work and congratulate him on receiving the 2003 Reliever Airport 
Manager of the Year Award; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
