SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 315
	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 
recognize the Bandera High School Football team for winning the 
2002 University Interscholastic League Class 3A, Division II, 
state title; and
	WHEREAS, The Bandera Bulldogs ended the season with a 
record of 13-3 and ably overcame formidable opponents throughout 
the playoffs to achieve the school's first-ever championship in 
any sport; and
	WHEREAS, During the exciting championship game against 
Midland Greenwood High School, the Bandera Bulldogs broke the tie 
between the teams in double-overtime, when they pulled ahead with 
three points to win 27-24; and
	WHEREAS, Rightfully proud of their championship winning 
efforts are team players Brett Hicks, Cody Fields, Robert Ickes,
Ryan Tierney, Scott Jennings, Chad Thompson, Jessie Sierra,
Gary Barton, Rusty Bookout, Brad Daigneault, Arron Ellinger,
Chris Martinez, Dustin Heep, Taylor Koerth, Jeff Wilkerson,
Matt Postert, Adam Alanis, Syngyn Dodd, Hunter Salyers,
Warren Parker, Ryan Groomer, Trey Nugent, Bryan Jacobs,
Josh Faglie, John Paul Lico, Kasey Young, Colton Sells,
Dustin Reed, Keith Winter, Thomas Burke, Garrison Smith,
D. J. Reed, A. J. Caza, and Johnny Meaney; and
	WHEREAS, The Bulldogs displayed remarkable skill and 
tenacity as a team under the superior leadership and expertise of 
Head Coach and Athletic Director Mike Williamson and Assistant
Coaches Steve Kidd, Stan Payne, Bob Shearhart, Russell Joy,
Brett Morris, Ray Young, John Milner, Eliseo Aguero, and
Steve Hoffman; and
	WHEREAS, The City of Bandera takes great pride in the 
Bulldogs for their exceptional dedication and talent and for 
practicing the highest ideals of sportsmanship, and their 
victorious season has brought great honor to the school and to 
the community; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby congratulate the Bandera Bulldogs for 
their outstanding achievements; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
them as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
