SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 323
In Memory
of
Robert Christopher Guerra
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
of Austin in mourning the untimely loss of Robert Christopher Guerra,
who died February 25, 2003, at the age of 52; and
WHEREAS, Robert "Tippy" Guerra was born June 14, 1950, in
San Antonio to Secundino Mata and Adelfa Guerra; he earned an
associate's degree from Del Mar Junior College in Corpus Christi
and attended The University of Texas at Austin; and
WHEREAS, He was a dedicated employee of Southwestern Bell,
now SBC Communications, Incorporated, for over 29 years, and
he was a founding member of the Club Sembradores de Amistad
de Austin and served as its treasurer; he was known for his
professionalism and his dignified and confident presence; and
WHEREAS, A man of integrity, strength, and generosity,
Mr. Guerra gave unselfishly of his time to others, and his wisdom,
warmth, and valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew
him; and
WHEREAS, Tippy Guerra touched the lives of many and was a
devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and he leaves behind
memories that will be treasured forever by his family and many
friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
bereaved family of Robert Christopher Guerra: his wife of
29 years, Irene Loredo Guerra; his son and daughter-in-law,
Loren and Katina Guerra; his daughters, Stefanie and Amanda; his
granddaughter, Isabella; his mother, Adelfa Guerra; his sisters,
Oralia Guerra Davila, Eva Guerra Barba, and Emma Guerra Ortiz;
and his brother, Bay Guerra; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for his
family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate,
and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
Robert Christopher Guerra.
