SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 324
	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 
recognize Bishop Gilbert E. Patterson, the special guest speaker 
for this year's Annual Ministers and Workers Convention hosted 
by the Texas East Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction Church of God in 
Christ, Incorporated; and
	WHEREAS, The convention this year is being held in 
Fort Worth, April 14 through 18, and all who are attending are 
honored to have Bishop Patterson as their guest; and
	WHEREAS, Bishop Patterson is the Presiding Bishop of the
Church of God in Christ, Incorporated, a worldwide religious 
organization with churches in the United States, Central America, 
South America, Europe, and Africa; and
	WHEREAS, He is founder and pastor of Temple of Deliverance 
Church in Memphis, Tennessee; with 13,000 members, it is one of 
the largest and fastest-growing congregations in the country; 
and
	WHEREAS, He also founded and is president of Bountiful 
Blessings Ministries, a highly rated television ministry, and he 
is the publisher and editor of Bountiful Blessings magazine; and
	WHEREAS, A man of spiritual depth and devotion, 
Bishop Patterson has performed countless ceremonies and prayed 
for and counseled his church members and others during their 
hardships and in times of bereavement; and

	WHEREAS, He is a renowned national speaker who has had a 
positive impact on the lives of many Christians, and he is truly 
a dedicated and greatly respected church leader; now, therefore, 
be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 
78th Legislature, hereby commend Bishop Gilbert E. Patterson for 
his devoted and caring ministry and his outstanding leadership; 
and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
