SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 329

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 
recognize Bethel Baptist Church in Houston on the occasion of its 
Career Conference, which takes place April 11 and 12, 2003; and

	WHEREAS, Bethel Baptist Church is guided by its mission to 
provide Christian leadership within and beyond the community 
through proclamation, evangelism, and education; and

	WHEREAS, The church has organized the two-day conference 
to introduce young people to different careers and to inspire 
them to pursue their dreams and ambitions; the conference will 
include a musical on April 11 and provide career activities on 
April 12; and

	WHEREAS, Through its sponsorship of this event, the church 
hopes that the area's young people will come to know many of the 
wonderful people who have grown up in South Park and other areas 
of Houston; and

	WHEREAS, Bethel Baptist Church is a source of enlightenment,
hope, and support to the Houston community, and its Career 
Conference will undoubtedly be an inspiration to young citizens 
to aspire to their highest goals; now, therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby commend Bethel Baptist Church for its 
dedication to young people and its invaluable service to the 
community and extend best wishes to all associated with the 
church for a highly successful Career Conference; and, be it 
further

	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared
for Bethel Baptist Church as an expression of esteem from the
Texas Senate.
