SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 354
	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 
recognize Ann Stewart on the grand occasion of the dedication of 
her new home on March 29, 2003; and
	WHEREAS, A gracious lady who is well known for her charm 
and generosity of spirit, Ann Stewart is a revered resident of 
Forney; and
	WHEREAS, Ann takes pride in her new home, which is
located at the same site where her childhood home once stood,
117 Brooks Street; and
	WHEREAS, The original home was built in 1887, and for well 
over a century, it stood as a historical legacy for the Stewart 
family and the community; the house was demolished in 2002 to 
make way for Ann's new home; and
	WHEREAS, The foundation of the original home was made from 
bois d'arc, which has variously been described as faithful, 
trustworthy, and immortal wood; a bois d'arc block that served as 
part of the foundation has been saved for posterity and as a 
symbol of strength for Ann's new home; and
	WHEREAS, Ann has many fond memories of her life in her 
childhood home, and her new home on the original family home site 
will serve as a link to strong familial bonds and memories; now, 
therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby congratulate Ann Stewart on the 
dedication of her new home and extend best wishes to her for a 
memorable and joyful event; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
