SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 361
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
pay tribute to Muriel Lee Murray on the grand occasion of her
80th birthday; and
WHEREAS, A gracious lady who is well known for her charm
and generosity of spirit, Muriel is a revered resident of Acres
Home; and
WHEREAS, Muriel Murray raised five children, and she has
been blessed with nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren;
and
WHEREAS, She was employed with the Aldine Independent
School District and is now retired; and
WHEREAS, Muriel Murray is a registered voter and an
election worker for Precinct 327; in addition, she has been a
longtime member of the Ada Chapter 59 of the Eastern Star and
of the House Wives Charity Club; and
WHEREAS, A resident of Acres Home for more than 45 years,
she actively participates on the Acres Home Multi-Service Center
Advisory Committee; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Murray is a member of Progressive Missionary
Baptist Church, where she belongs to the Sunday School department
and serves as president of Mission 1; and
WHEREAS, A beloved and respected member of her community,
Muriel Murray has touched the lives of many people with her
smile, her gentle words of wisdom, and her ability to bring
encouragement to others; and
WHEREAS, In celebration of Muriel's birthday, friends
and family will gather on March 30, 2003, at Mount Pleasant
Missionary Baptist Church in Houston to congratulate her and to
share in this important milestone in her life; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby recognize Muriel Lee Murray as a
treasured citizen of Acres Home and the State of Texas; and,
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
