SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 395
WHEREAS, Eric Geoffrey Ransom of College Station is
among the elite group of individuals who have attained the
rank of Eagle Scout, and his impressive accomplishment is
being recognized at a Court of Honor on March 23, 2003; and
WHEREAS, During his tenure as a member of Boy Scout
Troop 802 at A&M United Methodist Church, Eagle Scout Ransom
has demonstrated commitment and integrity as a leader, and
he has earned the respect and admiration of his fellow troop
members and current and former scoutmasters John Bennett and
John Jackman; and
WHEREAS, Since beginning his association with scouting,
Mr. Ransom has steadily progressed through the ranks, earning
21 merit badges while on his path of notable achievement; for his
Eagle Scout project, he coordinated a car wash fundraiser, after
which he led a team of scouts to restore a volleyball court and
create a sand volleyball court at his home church, Christ United
Methodist; and
WHEREAS, The dedication to excellence and perseverance
Eagle Scout Ransom has modeled in the pursuit of his goals have
proven him worthy to stand among scouting's best, and it is most
appropriate that he be honored at this time; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby congratulate Eric Geoffrey Ransom on
attaining the rank of Eagle Scout and commend him for exemplifying
the highest ideals of the scouting movement; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
prepared for Mr. Ransom as an expression of high regard by the
Texas Senate.
