SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 396
WHEREAS, Brian Matthew Woods, the son of proud parents
Larry and Sabrina Woods, received the prestigious Eagle Scout
insignia at a Court of Honor ceremony held on October 30, 2002;
and
WHEREAS, A student at Naaman Forest High School, Mr. Woods
has been a member of the First Edition, the Naaman Forest
Lumberjacks, and the University Interscholastic League
all-region choir; he also attends Union Missionary Baptist
Church in Oak Cliff, and his hobbies include music, theater, and
piano; and
WHEREAS, Since Mr. Woods joined Boy Scout Troop No. 57 in
1997, he has deftly risen through the ranks; a member of the Order
of the Arrow, he has brought honor to the leadership positions of
patrol leader, chaplain's aide, instructor, librarian, assistant
senior patrol leader, and troop guide; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Woods has undergone a rigorous qualifying
process to obtain the Eagle Scout badge, earning the requisite
21 merit badges and completing an Eagle Scout project that has
benefited his community; and
WHEREAS, The elite rank of Eagle Scout is attained by few
individuals, and through his outstanding efforts and commitment,
Mr. Woods has accomplished a truly admirable feat; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby congratulate Brian Matthew Woods on
achieving the rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him warmest best
wishes for future success and happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
prepared for Mr. Woods as an expression of high regard by the
Texas Senate.
