SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 418
	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 
join the citizens of Houston in recognizing March 25, 2003, as 
Rosemary Davis Branch Day in Houston and to pay tribute to her
on the grand occasion of her 75th birthday; and
	WHEREAS, A gracious lady who is well known for her charm 
and generosity of spirit, Rosemary is a revered resident of 
Houston; and
	WHEREAS, Rosemary Branch was born March 25, 1928, in 
Harlingen; she moved to Houston 40 years ago and encouraged other 
members of her family to settle there; her family has since 
raised three generations of Houstonians; and
	WHEREAS, A beloved and respected member of her community, 
Rosemary is noted for her courage, her compassion for others, and 
her enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest; and
	WHEREAS, In celebration of her birthday, family and 
friends will gather on March 29, 2003, to congratulate her and 
share in this important milestone; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby recognize Rosemary Davis Branch as a 
treasured citizen of Houston and the State of Texas and extend 
best wishes to her for the future; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
her as a memento of this special day.
