SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 425
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Gregory W. Lee on the occasion of his retirement after
28 years of loyal service to the State of Texas; and
WHEREAS, Greg is retiring on March 31, 2003, from the
Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts, where he has worked
for three comptrollers, Carole Keeton Strayhorn, John Sharp, and
Bob Bullock; and
WHEREAS, Greg earned a bachelor of science degree in
mathematics from Prairie View A&M University in 1973; he has
been a member of the Black American Comptroller Employees
organization since its inception, and he was a participant
in the Texas Legislative Black Caucus Conference in 1999; and
WHEREAS, He began his career with the comptroller's office
in 1976 as a computer operator, and he spent the last 25 years as
a scheduler in the Automation and Production Control section of
the Information Technology Division; and
WHEREAS, During his tenure, Greg was involved with several
significant tax implementations and conversions, and he has
received a number of certificates of appreciation for his work;
and
WHEREAS, A consummate professional and an exemplary public
servant, Greg is highly respected by his colleagues, and his
presence at the Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts will
be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby commend Gregory W. Lee for his many
years of dedicated service to the State of Texas and extend best
wishes to him for the retirement years ahead; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
