SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 431
In Memory
of
Sylvia Acevedo
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
citizens of San Antonio in mourning the loss of Sylvia Acevedo,
who died March 1, 2003, at the age of 53; and
WHEREAS, A woman of integrity, strength, and generosity,
Sylvia gave unselfishly of her time to others, and her wisdom,
warmth, and valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who
knew her; and
WHEREAS, Sylvia was dedicated to her family, and felt
especially blessed to have her precious son, Nathan; and
WHEREAS, Sylvia was a devoted daughter, mother, and
sister, and she leaves behind memories that will be treasured
forever by her family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
bereaved family of Sylvia Acevedo: her son, Nathan Acevedo;
her parents, Ernesto and Olivia Acevedo, Sr.; her sisters
and brothers-in-law, Elda and Guillermo De La Garza,
Olinda and Johnny Cisneros, Graciela and Tony Esquivel,
and Ana Belia and Roy Franco; her brother, Oscar Acevedo;
her brothers and sisters-in-law, Ernest Acevedo, Jr., and
Diana and Hector Acevedo and Sherri; and numerous nieces and
nephews; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared
for the members of her family as an expression of deepest
sympathy from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns
this day, it do so in memory of Sylvia Acevedo.
