SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 501
WHEREAS, February 19, 2003, was indeed a special day for
Julie and Ian Johnson of Richmond, for on that day they became the
proud parents of an adorable baby daughter, Mia Marie Johnson;
and
WHEREAS, This charming beauty made her debut at 9:46 a.m.
at Methodist Sugar Land Hospital; she is the first grandchild on
her mother's side of the family and the second grandchild and
first granddaughter on her father's side of the family; and
WHEREAS, Mia Marie's birth has brought exceeding joy to
her delighted grandparents, Larry and Carol Jones of Dallas and
Jay and Connie Johnson of Salado; and
WHEREAS, The much-anticipated arrival of this precious
baby has added another potential University of Texas student to
the population of the Lone Star State; her mother, Julie,
received a speech degree in communication disorders from
The University of Texas at Austin as well as a master's
degree from the University of Houston and is employed as a
speech-language pathologist for the Fort Bend County Independent
School District; her father, Ian, is also an alumnus of
The University of Texas at Austin, with a psychology degree, and
is employed with The Shade Shop in Houston; and
WHEREAS, The birth of a child is always a momentous event,
and it is a pleasure to formally announce Mia Marie's birth and
honor her proud parents; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby officially welcome Mia Marie Johnson as
a new citizen of Texas and extend heartfelt congratulations to
Julie and Ian Johnson on the birth of their cherished daughter;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
prepared for Mia Marie Johnson and her parents as an expression
of high regard by the Texas Senate.
