SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 568

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 
recognize Luther Parker, on the occasion of his retirement as
the chief executive officer of the Texas Pharmacy Foundation 
after nearly 39 years of dedicated service; and
	WHEREAS, Luther will be honored for his longtime commitment 
to the profession of pharmacy in Texas on July 19, 2003, during a 
special reception at the annual meeting of the Texas Pharmacy 
Foundation; and
	WHEREAS, The reception is an opportunity to express 
appreciation to Luther for his exceptional leadership and for
the dedication and skill with which he has handled his 
responsibilities throughout his career; and
	WHEREAS, This memorable occasion will also provide the 
opportunity to raise funds for the institution that Luther has so 
effectively led; money raised at the reception will enable the 
foundation to continue to build an endowment to support pharmacy 
student scholarships and to facilitate other needed projects; 
and
	WHEREAS, The Texas Pharmacy Foundation has long played
an important role in the field of pharmacy in our state, and
Luther Parker's capable leadership has enabled the foundation
to succeed in its many endeavors; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, hereby commend Luther Parker for his 
outstanding service to the profession of pharmacy and his 
invaluable contributions to the Texas Pharmacy Foundation;
and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
